The 2016 Fall/ Winter designs again reflect an imaginative mix of European elegance, New York urban glamour and Asian exoticism as her past collections have demonstrated.
On Vivienne Hu’s runway show at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016, AtoG and Vivienne Hu cooperated and launched five luxurious custom-made undergarments. AtoG is a leading undergarment brand of China that focuses on bringing fashion and technology together to a great fusion of comfortable underwear. On the Vivienne Hu runway show, the showcase of the five designs was a highlight of the New York Fashion Week. “Incorporating AtoG’s lingerie was a great success for this collection,” said Vivienne, “it made the runway collection looks appealing and rich.”

BELSTAFF’s spring/summer’16 collection is inspired by the beauty manifested in power: from

the thrust of waves to the hum of a throttled engine, some of the greatest forces are also

it is perhaps nature’s greatest force – that of the sea – that provides this collection with its

most prominent theme. From the mottled play of light in the shallows to the richer hues of

the deep oceans, the ebb and flow of this ultimate energy is explored through texture, form,

colour and silhouette, providing a unique meditation on femininity.

We find the belstaff woman hurtling through a life of adventure, a free-spirited agent

constantly ready for and adapting to the challenges she encounters. she is a force of

femininity: on the one hand a power to be reckoned with, while on the other a serene beauty

amid the tumult. this juxtaposition is central to the Dna of belstaff womenswear, and most

evident here in the bold yet effortless combination of a long silk georgette dress with a

1950s-inspired leather café racer, and in the reinvention of classic belstaff silhouettes such

as the rider’s coat or four-pocket jacket, which come in lighter technical fabrics that are as

assuredly feminine as they are protective.

ninous’ second main collection for belstaff, shown during london Fashion Week, was

presented in the Great Hall of marylebone’s Hellenic centre, an elegant inner-city mansion

dating from the early 1900s. models in the new collection were dispersed around the hall

among vignettes of sand, whilst seascapes and sounds formed a backdrop, with composer

sorana santos (who replaced Florence Welch in her breakthrough band ashok) playing a

medley of piano music on a grand steinway throughout. mayfair gastronomic newcomer,

bouillabaisse, provided coastal cuisine to guests viewing the presentation from an over-

hanging terrace.

PRINT

a key element to the collection is the water reflection print, a mottled play of light which has been used

evocatively in a protective wax-cotton jacket, t-shirts and a tiered silk-georgette dress. the print is

complemented throughout the collection with elements of transparency.

WHITE COATING

playing with the idea of breaking waves and wind-blown grains of sand, belstaff has introduced a white

chalky coating on leather, linen and knitwear fabrics to give them a tactile sense of degradation. the wavy

lines left in the sand by the receding tide also serve as the inspiration for a quilted fitted bomber jacket.

TAPING

taping features throughout the collection, inspired by the brand’s motorcycle and military heritage. it

delivers an element of strength and reinforcement in leather pieces such as a fitted racing blouson and

in four-pocket jackets and coats, while elsewhere taping has been developed more conceptually, in

particular a full-length white dress with patchwork effect.

STRIPES

referencing pinstriped surfboards and moto racing stripes, this collection features many striping details

suggestive of momentum and speed.

FABRICS

Given belstaff’s history of pioneering technical fabrics, this collection continues in the same vein by

using innovative coating techniques on linen to add a protective quality to an otherwise lightweight

luxury fabric. organza and silk provide fluidity in contrast to the structure of vegetable tanned leather.

With the addition of lightweight suede, coated cotton and wax elements, the entire collection is

extremely tactile and textural.

COLOURS

the collection plays with transparency and opacity in a range of colours – and significantly and unusually

for belstaff, predominantly with pastels – many referencing the sea and the coast from sky to marine blues,

to textural whites and rich hues of sandy beige. Faded earthy khakis and olives reference military fatigues.

KNITWEAR

rope detailing and fishing net motifs play into the knitwear offering, with graphic mesh effects once again

blurring the frontier between transparency and opacity.

SHOES

boot sandals with a cutaway heel and a corrugated leather upper represent strength in femininity by

combining military detailing with a much more casual summer aesthetic.

CUSTO BARCELONA MAKES AN APPEARANCE AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK WITH ITS SLOW COLLECTION

The firm presented its spring-summer 2016 collection at New York’s Pier 59

Custo Barcelona presented its Spring-Summer 2016 collection Slow at New York Fashion Week. The pieces of this new collection feature intricate details and elaborate production processes. With creativity and modernity in mind, it found its inspiration in the culinary movement that rejects the standardization of taste and defends creative, slow cooking. The garments are all produced in the company’s ateliers and again bear the “Made in Spain” distinction sewn into the label.With SlowCusto Barcelona celebrates the colorful, eclectic, one-of-a-kind personality of a woman who is unique and has her own rebellious style. The key proposals are muscular patchwork garments, dresses, coats, jackets, tops, tunics and pants featuring organic cuts inspired by ergonomics and puzzles. These pieces play on their muscular shapes, marked off with contrast stitching and gaps that emerge when they are joined, defying the conventional.

Especially evident in the collection’s looks is the delicacy of the fabrics, such as blond lace and open knit mesh.These were once used solely for women but now also hint at the skin of the male bodies on the catwalk. This “trifecta”—as it is called in the firm—of three garments brought together by the same fabric and print in a single look yields a very compact visual concept very in keeping with the style of Custo Barcelona.

The color palette for the various looks is inspired by nature: petal pink, emerald green, violet, white gardenia, mauve, fuchsia, lime, lemon, Mediterranean blue and tangerine come together harmoniously in the pieces. The strength and personality of black play an important role of the looks on the catwalk, but earthy tones colored by the setting sun together with knit textures are another of Custo’s winning formulas.

In the men’s looks, the firm sought the carefree elegance of the Mediterranean man, using geometric and pictorial graphics in the signature look of the company.

Presented for the first time at Pier 59 Studios, the show once again brought together the brand’s faithful followers, who did not want to miss a single detail of the latest proposals by Custo Barcelona. The guest list included Orange is the New Black actresses Dasha Polanco and Selenis Leyva.

La firma ha presentado su propuesta de primavera verano 16 en Pier 59

Custo Barcelona ha presentado en la pasarela de la New York Fashion Week su colección Slow para Primavera-Verano 16, formada por piezas de cuidadísimos detalles y elaborados procesos de fabricación. Apuntando hacia la creatividad y contemporaneidad, la colección se inspira en el movimiento culinario que se opone a la estandarización del gusto y defiende la cocina creativa y a fuego lento. Las piezas presentadas están producidas en los talleres de la firma y vuelven a llevar el Made in Spain cosido en su etiqueta.

Con Slow, Custo Barcelona celebra la personalidad multicolor, ecléctica y única de una mujer individual, con estilo propio y rebelde. Las propuestas clave son las prendas de patchworks musculares, vestidos, abrigos, chaquetas, tops y túnicas y pantalones con cortes orgánicos inspirados en la ergonometría y en los puzzles. Juegan con las piezas de formas musculares reseguidas con vivos a contraste y el vacío que dejan al unirse entre sí, desafiando convencionalismos.

Unos looks que destacan por la delicadeza de sus tejidos como la blonda o las mallas abiertas de tricot, antes de uso exclusivo para la mujer, que dejan entrever también la piel de los cuerpos masculinos en la pasarela. El concepto tripleta, en el argot de la firma, o tres prendas unidas por el mismo tejido y gráfica en un mismo look forman un concepto visual muy compacto al más puro estilo Custo Barcelona.

La paleta de colores que tiñe los diferentes looks se inspira en la naturaleza: el rosa pétalo, verde esmeralda, violeta, blanco gardenia, malva, fucsia, lima, limón, azul mediterráneo y mandarina armonizan las prendas. El negro, con toda su fuerza y personalidad, marca una parte importante de los looks sobre la pasarela, pero los colores tierra matizados por el sol del atardecer unidos a las texturas de la tricotosa son otra de las fórmulas ganadoras de Custo.

Para los looks masculinos, se busca la elegancia despreocupada característica del hombre mediterráneo con una gráfica geométrica y pictórica, sello de identidad de la firma.

El desfile presentado por primera vez en Pier 59 Studios, ha vuelto a reunir a fieles seguidores de la firma que no quisieron perderse ni un detalle de las nuevas propuestas de Custo Barcelona. Vivienne Hu is a Swarovski Collective Designer 2016

New York, NY—7:00PM, September 13th, 2015—Vivienne Hu’s New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 Collection Runway Show took place at the Artbeam in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood. The event was well attended by fashion editors, media, buyers and celebrities, and has received wide coverage and attention following the event.

Vivienne Hu’s S/S16 inspiration is mainly from the extraordinary painting Hummingbirds and Butterflies by Thomas Wood. The masterpiece paints a very vivid image of a colorful and harmonious garden that remind people of the joy of the life. Fascinated by the spectrum of colors used, Vivienne adopted for the first time some colorful candy colors in her new season’s designs. In addition to the colors, some abstract shapes, that represent the images of the great nature, were extracted and the geometric patterns of the crystals were constructed and filled into these shapes in artistic ways designed by Vivienne. The sparkling crystals, as all have observed during Vivienne Hu’s runway, paints a perfect image about a lady’s imagination of a beautiful life.

Vivienne Hu has been named as a Swarovski Collective designer 2016 and her designs with the brilliant crystals revealed during her NYFW runway have been well received. Vivienne Hu’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection featured bold crystal studding across many pieces paired with organic, abstract shapes. The designer used flowing silhouettes and asymmetric hemlines for looks that were both feminine and free spirited, with a nod to soft colors and pastel pantones.

Vivienne Hu’s design collections are both feminine and edgy, catering to the modern independent women who want to dress with unique style for all occasions. Her talents have been widely recognized by the many of her NYFW runway reviews. For one example (among many), she was named a  “8 Up and Coming Designers to Watch During NY Fashion Week” and her designs featured in Fashion Week Trend Analysis.

ВЕРКА СЕРДЮЧКА посетила Нью Йоркскую Неделю моды Весна Лето 2016

Вдохновение для коллекции Вивьен Ху весна лето 2016 взято в основном из живописи колибри и бабочек Томаса Вуда. 

Шедевральные картины с очень яркими образами красок и гармоний в саду, которые напоминают людям о радости жизни. 

Очарованные спектра цветов, используемых, Вивьен впервые использовала несколько красочных цветов каерамельных конфет в дизайнах своего нового сезона. 

В дополнение к цветам, она добавила некоторые абстрактные формы, которые представляют собой изображения большого характера, а так же использованны и геометрические узоры кристаллов в художественной форме, которые были разработанны Вивьен. 

Сверкающие кристаллы были заметны все время на подиуме Vivienne Ху, придавая идеальный образ о женской фантазии о красивой жизни.

 Als Vanderbilt Erbin in siebter Generation hätte Consuelo Costin den Expresszug zum Erfolg nehmen können.

Doch da Musik im Hause Vanderbilt nie eine Rolle spielte, und die musikalischen Ambitionen des Mädchens nicht ernst genommen wurden, geriet Consuelos Reise zur gewünschten Destination auf Umwege: Ihre Mutter schickte sie zunächst nach London auf die Handelsschule – denn die Aufmerksamkeit suchenden Gesangseinlagen Ihres Sproß in Highheels waren ihr peinlich: „zieh Dir bitte wieder Deine Turnschuhe an, Kind“. Nur ihr Urgroßvater Earl T. Smith (damaliger Botschafter in Kuba) ermutigte sie: „Du hast amtliche Stimmbänder – go for it, girl“.

Das tat sie. Consuelo sang im Schulchor, spielt Flöte, Gitarre und Piano. „Ich wollte eigentlich unbedingt wie Madonna sein, und ich hatte einige Musik- und Gesangslehrer – doch erst mein deutscher Berater Christian Seidel half mir, meine eigene Stimme zu finden und Songs zu schreiben. Dafür bin ich ihm immer noch dankbar“.

Im Alter von 19 Jahren zerstörte ein Autounfall Consuelo’s rechte Gesichthälfte. Heute ist nur eine Narbe (sichtbar als Grübchen) Hinweis auf ihre Nahtoderfahrung, aber, so Consuelo: „Ich lernte nebst Demut, mich nicht nur auf gutes Aussehen zu verlassen, und lebe seither bewußt und selektiv –z.B. umgebe ich mich nur mit angenehmen Menschen. Ich schätze Leute, die ein gutes Herz haben – darauf achte ich als Erstes, wenn ich jemanden kennenlerne.“

Die Sängerin lebte in New York, mehrere Jahre in London (dort nahm sie u.a. Schauspielunterricht) sowie in Florenz – und doch war es Los Angeles, ihre Geburtsstadt, in der sich Consuelo zunächst als Rocksängerin und Komponistin mitsamt ihrer siebenköpfigen Band einen Namen in der hiesigen Clubszene machte: „wir sind sogar vor ASIA aufgetreten – es war eine gute Zeit“.

Doch – das erste Album mit Rocksongs in der Tasche – geriet Consuelos Reise wieder auf Abwege: „Mein Friseur hörte meinen Song NAKED. Er war so begeistert, dass er ihn seinem Freund Dan De Leon (ein DJ) vorstellte“. De Leon verwandelte den Titel in einen Discoknaller – und so nahm Consuelos Karriere Fahrt auf: NAKED eroberte die BILLBOARD Dance Charts Top 10, und verlieb dort für 16 Wochen. Der Rest ist Geschichte, wie man so schön sagt…. denn bis dato beläuft sich die Summe aller Consuelo Costin Single Releases auf 50 Wochen BILLBOARD Dance Charts Platzierung.

So wurde es 2015 endlich Zeit für I’M JUST ME, ihr erstes Album, das, wie Consuelo sagt, kein „Motto“ hat: „Es war mir wichtig, jeden einzelnen meiner Songs eine Geschichte erzählen zu lassen, und ihm ein Gesicht zu geben. Die Zusammenarbeit mit einem interessanten Menschen stand im Vordergrund“.

In Anlehnung an Costins Individualität und ihre instinktive Haltung “keine Regeln” beinhaltet I’M JUST ME eine Reihe von Kollaborationen mit hochkarätigen Autoren, Komponisten und Produzenten. Das Album wurde in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, Montréal, Paris, Berlin und Oslo aufgenommen. Von dem mitreißenden Dance Track “Hate Myself The Morning After”, und dem von Rock beeinflussten “Girl With a Loaded Gun”, das jazzige “Mister Midnight”, oder die epische Ballade “Lose My Mind”: Jeder Song hat seine eigene Geschichte… erzählt ein Kapitel aus Consuelo Costins unglaublicher Reise durchs Leben.

Fragt man Consuelo, was Sie sich noch wünscht vom Leben, kommt als Antwort: „Ich würde gerne besser kochen können. Ich liebe Lasagne. Leider habe ich beim letzten Dinner vergessen die Nudeln vorher einzuweichen – meine Gäste haben sich fast die Zähne ausgebissen.“

Dann zwinkert sie, und sagt: „Scherz beiseite – mein größter Wunsch wäre im Madison Square Garden aufzutreten vor einem Riesenpublikum, das alle meine Songs mitsingt“.

Die eingängige Pophymne LOSE MY MIND ist die erste Auskopplung aus CONSUELO COSTINs CD I’M JUST ME.

Unter der Regie von Paul Coy Allen (Katy Perry, Timbaland), wurde das Video zu “Lose My Mind” im Vanderbilt Museum in New York gefilmt – dem ehemaligen Haus von Costins Urgroßvater Willie K. Vanderbilt II. In den 1950er Jahren spielend, erzählt die Geschichte eine arrangierte Ehe und den familiären Druck mit dem die Vanderbilt Frauen der Vergangenheit konfrontiert wurden – einschließlich Costins Urgroßmutter, Consuelo Vanderbilt Earl. In dem Video trägt Costin den Verlobungsring ihrer Ur-Oma, der auch Inspiration für Consuelos neue Schmuckkollektion ist.

Doch in der Realität wurde der attraktiven Erbin von Cornelius Vanderbilt der Erfolg nicht auf dem Silbertablett überreicht. Consuelo lässt Herz und Seele in ihre Musik fließen, und erarbeitet ihren Erfolg ganz eigenständig.

Das Video zu „Lose my mind“ hat daher auch ein Happy-End: Costin entscheidet sich für den Chauffeur – und läßt den reichen Edelmann am Altar stehen.

Costins Single “Body Needs” (erschien Ende 2014) erreichte die Billboard Dance Charts Top 10 für 6 Wochen und Top 5 für 1 Woche. Es war Costins vierter aufeinanderfolgender Top 20-Hit. Er erreichte die UK Music Week Handels Charts Top 11, die Gay Charts Top 15, und blieb über 30 Wochen in der weltweiten Deejay-Worx Tabelle.

More than 63,300 beauty professionals attended the event looking to develop their skills, refine their techniques and enhance their careers. IBS New York took place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Some of the most innovative hair care, nail care, tools, furniture, apparel, business and software companies were represented amongst the more than 500 exhibitors.

The aisles were packed, exhibitors surpassed their sales goals and the conference program was well‐attended. The Exhibits
The Exhibit Hall boasted some of the hottest professional brands in the industry. From Farouk Systems to Amika, to Halo Couture, attendees acquired insight into latest trends and stocked up on a plethora of products and tools. The Pibbs family was well represented on the show floor with Turbo Power, Parlux and La Brasiliana. Alfa Parf/Pier Marco, Babyliss, Brazilian Blowout, Hotheads Hair Extensions, Rusk, Sassoon Academy, Young Nails and Verb amongst many others. The Exhibit Hall drew tens of thousands of attendees and packed aisles were the norm on all three days of the show.

The latest trends for men were well‐featured at IBS New York with more men’s grooming companies than ever before. Gibs, Johnny B Haircare, Layrite Men’s Grooming Products, Leo Shaving by Premier, Nirvel, Oster Professional Products and Wahl, amongst other companies, lined the show floor providing attendees with the hottest “manscaping” products and tools. Major League Barber also hosted inspiring barber competitions, allowing barbers to put their traditional and design talents to the test.

Also new this year to the show floor was the Emerging Brands Pavilion. The Pavilion offered companies the opportunity to display new, innovative products that have been launched within the last two years. Exhibitors included Luxosea/ Meramor US, Puff Cuff and Spa Flops.

Main Stage
The 2015 Main Stage hosted fierce performances by some of the industry’s most talented artists, including: Kelly Cardenas, Sassoon Academy, Ted Gibson, Martin Parsons and Charlie Price. The renowned Beth Minardi returned to IBS New York this year and hosted a Main Stage performance showcasing her signature shades. Other notable Main Stage artists included: Woody & Amy Michleb, Leonardo Rocco, Lisa Yamasaki and James Harris & Dwight Eubanks.

The conference program was packed with essential classes to help attendees learn new skills and increase their bottom line. Classes ranged from hair cutting and styling to nail enhancements and eyelash extensions to business building. Three brand new tracks were added this year – Color, Men and Product Focused.

Educational highlights include:
• Babak, Dusan Grante and Kari Kisch hosted an innovative class about fashion editorials and campaigns – from the creation of the hair style, to choosing wardrobe, applying makeup and how to read photography and showcase work.
• Men’s Grooming guru, Diana Schmidtke, featured the latest men’s trends and runway looks.
• Celebrity stylist, Ted Gibson, unveiled tips on how to create celebrity‐inspired hairstyles, plus Avant‐Garde philosophy that editorial stylists use during photo shoots and fashion shows.
• The Queen of Haircolor, Beth Minardi, revealed her newest color formulas along with her coveted coloring techniques.
• DJ Muldoon demonstrated his expertise with cutting mechanics and principals.
• Celebrity makeup artist Eve Pearl provided attendees with her highly sought‐after contouring techniques.
• CND’s Roxanne Valinoti gave insight into the nail trends, fashions and innovations for Spring 2015.
• Paul DiGrigoli rocked participants’ bottom line knowledge with innovative leadership, acquisition and marketing ideas.

Hairbrained Video Awards
The second annual Hairbrained Video Awards party took place in conjunction with IBS New York. The awards honored remarkable filmmakers who portrayed the spirit of the hair industry in an extraordinary way using video. Winners were selected in a variety of categories. International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference
IBS New York attendees visited the IECSC exhibit hall at no additional charge to learn and shop the newest in the spa, skincare and wellness industries at the largest spa and wellness show in New York.

Coloured metallic inlaid within the graphic patter of wood and marble. The alluring marquetry of cuts, patterns and textures. These are the markings of the neo-body-conscious Missoni woman for next Winter armed with the dashing and seductive spontaneity of her “deep in knit” ensembles.

Tight legging-like trousers combine with one-shoulder knits and deep zippered V necks. Overalls in sheer marbled jersey are worn  under metallic mash tank dresses or short tight linear dresses with body-revealing slits. Soft and enveloping, elastic and versatile, satiny and transparent as a second skin. Long masculine jackets and capes with narrow tuxedo lapels, in which jacquard patterns expand like construction games on horizontal, perpendicular and diagonal levels, transforming the veining and zigzags into something more abstract, spectacular and iconic.

Bands of colour from white to black, from orange to bright red from greens to purple to pastel colours. Space dyeing and zigzags, veined and striped jaquards alternate and interact like the mark of an energetic and playful collection that gives freedom to mix and match.

Illuminated by long and ultralight dangling metal coloures fringes earrings and accessorized with calfskin boots, shoes and sabots with slashed upper and C-shaped heels in resin and metal. Little marbled resin bags feature bands with sides and linings in laminated suede.  Large leather bags have two handles and sides in laminated suede.
